Medical Examination

1. Do I need a medical examination?

All applicants and dependents, accompanying or not, must pass a medical examination at an approved doctor’s office or clinic. Passing means that you or your dependents will not cause excessive demand on health or social services in Canada.

2. Does my family need medical examination?

Yes. All of your dependents who are not already permanent residents or Canadian citizens, whether they will accompany you to Canada or not, must undergo a medical examination.

3. My son will not immigrate to Canada, why does he need medical examination?

Because diseases are most easily passed to family members, the government requires all dependents to have an examination.

4. Can I ask my own doctor do the medical examination?

No, only approved physicians may perform the examination. The physicians submit the report directly to the Canadian Immigration. You are not allowed to see the report of the results of the examination. Maple International will provide you a set of documents to take to the physician at an appropriate time in the application process.

5. My family is overseas and I am in the US, where do we get the medical examination?

Maple International will inform the Canadian authorities of this situation and the location of your family members. A list of nearby designated medical practitioners will be provided along with appropriate forms.
